STRATFORD.
There is much speculation as to who the local correspondent is, and there are dark: rumours of a funeral if his name transpires. The writer pauses to shudder, and hopes it will not, as he does not like funerals -~ never did— and in future will not be at home to callers.. .The Catholic bazaar, in spite of the inclement weather, was a great success, and the church will gather in many shekels therefrom. Quite a coincidence, the Father winning the first prize. .There Beems every indication of a fashionable wedding here soon, judging from the billing and cooing of M B and Miss B on the tennis lawn. The new building will have to be enlarged again.. HA doesn't smile on the young man from Ngaire now. Did he prove fickle, too ?...H Ob niece and Miss K seemed greatly amused in church on Sunday week. Was it at the person in front?.. What is the reason of the disbandment of one of the local choirs ? Is it true that the wherewithal was not forthcoming to pay the choir-master ? It is to be hoped that the meeting that is taking place will smooth matters.
