TUAKAU.
A very pretty wedding was celebrated on Wednesday, 10th inst., when Mr Thos. Grigg, of Auckland, was married to Esther, second daughter of Mr J Adamson The ceremony was performed by Rev Mr Findlay, Presbyterian minister, in the afternoon, at the residence of tbe bride's parents. The bride, who was given awa* by her father, looked charming in creme cashmere trimmed with chiffon and satin, and wore the customary orange blossoms. The Misses Annie and CiSßie A damson attended as bridesmaids attired in cornflower blue lustre trimmed with lace, and wearing pretty gold brooches, the gifts of the bridegroom. Mr Walter Griee assisted his brother. After the ceremony the guests, to the number of about forty sat down to a sumptuous breakfast, delicate and varied enough to tempt the most fastidious The cake, which came from town, was a triumph of the baker's art. The spacious barn had been gaily decorated with evergreens and flowers, and at night an adjournment was made to it, where dancing (for which Mr Whiteside supplied the music, games, songs and recitations were indulged in until daylight, a break being made for supper The presents, which were both numerous and handsome, included a dinner set, tea sets silver teapots, cruets (dinner and breakfast)' butter-coolers, bifcait barrels, vases, fruit dishes, marble clock, Bet of dessert silver cabinet, carving knife and fork, and others 100 numerous to mention. Amongst the dresses worn I noticed the following :— Mrs Griee silver grey; Mrs W Euston, d-laine blouse black skirt; Miss A Euston, pale blue and white ; Mra Poland, navy blue ; Mrs Lo<»an black ; Mi ib M Adamson, shot grey and brown • Miss Poland, pale pink; Miss Logan, delaine blouse, fawn skirt ; Miss Warren, pink blouse black skirt; Miss Madill, pink blouse grey skirt ; Miss Smith, white blouse, black skirt • Miss Bovill, creme blouse, navy skirt; Mi s Griffin, mixed green and grey. The happy couple left next day, amid showers of rice and good wishes, for Buth's Island, where the honeymoon is to be Epent. .The annual school picnic took place on Thursday last. In the evening a concert was held, followed by the usual dance. Despite the inclemency of the weather, a good number turned up to the dance, and seemed to enjoy themselves.. T B was undoubtedly the beau of the evening, his style of dancing being much admired.. WP took the room by storm, as it were. His dancing seemed to tickle the fancy of the small fry...Miss W is as popular as ever especially with the boys... J C was absent, but ma was all there — as merry as the proveibial bitten. -L D lost control of his legs in the mazurka with the teacher. Persevere, old man. Borne was not built in a day. . J E was all there with the ladies... J Me seems to have made an impression on the Misses P. He also made an impression on the O M's toes. .The long and the short of it— Miss Me and L D
