OHAEAWAI.

A social, given by Mesdames Woods, Hedlnnd, H. Bindon, Misses Hansen, Mackay, iuid Fnrdy was held in Woods' hall on the 4th September, and a most enjoyable evening was soent. Music was supplied by Miss Hand nnd Messrs Maihoa and Micliie. Songswere given at i atervals by Messrs Staunton and Woods. Mrs Hedlnnd looked nice in black sk rfc, heliotrope blou-e and black lace; Mrs Woods, black velvet skirt, white silk blouse (very pretty) ; Mrs Bindon, black skirt, fawn blonse ; Mrs Purdv. black and white ; Mrs J. Kirkpatrick, white and pink; Miss.Hans-n, amber and black evening dress ; Mis < Mackay, black and pale blue evening dress ; Mrs Stewart, pretty pink : Miss lire wer, pink ; Miss Alder ton , pale blue evening dress ; Miss Purdy, black velvet, ecru lace ; Miss Alexander, pretty evening dress of cremo and cardinal ; Miss £1 Cook, crenie and blue ; Miss J Cook, dark costume; Miss M Cook, dark costume; Misses White, white and pink; Miss Hand, green velvet blouse, grey 'tweed skirt; Miss ohellord, black audpinK; Miss Maihoa, black and cardinal ; Mrs Maihoa, black and pink. J S was considered beau of the evening. The honour of belle lay between Misses Hansen and Muckay...F W and N B enjoyed themselves whispering in the corner.. P H looked down-hearted.
