WHAKATANE.
F F has become very quiet since H has left Whakatane. Is it a case of true love, F?..H says it will be very payne-ful to leave Whakataue..A concert and dance was held on the 21th of August in aid of the Library, which proved a decided success. Musical items were given by Misses Mundy, Butter, Brown, Booth, Fisher, Sturtevant and Smith, Messrs Gilmour, Wright and Clay, and were well received. Captain Hopkins carried out the duties 01 M C, and kept the dancing in full swing till the dancers were tired out. .6 M was doing it nicely the other night escorting those two young ladies home. Not greedy, C. Is it LorM?..."SVhatever will M D do now that A has gone ? She may well sing ' I won't play anymore in your back yard, I won't play with you any more; you'll be sorry when you see the Chelmsford steaming out across the bar.' Never mind, all good things come to those who wait...OurP is quitea. toff atfootball. He says things are only middling when he starts. I wouldn't like to be near when the game is in full swing, especially when he has had a tiff with his best girl ..I say, B, ask H to give you some of bis girls to look after, now he is leaving. tieuin.fc
