PUKEKOHE EAST,
Mr and Mrs Tilby gave a most enjoyable dance at their residence, ' The Retreat,' Buckland, on Friday evening, August 21st. No trouble was spared by the host and hostess to make the evening a success. The large dining room was cleared for danciDg, the floor being in splendid condition. The dance music was played by the hostess and Mrs Plavey. During the evening n duet was played by Mr W. and Miss Sharp, as were also pieces by Misses Holmes and Wright. Cards, chess, and draughts were provided for those who did not care to indulge in dancing all the time. A recherche supper was served at midnight after which dancing was resumed and kept v ' till morning. The guests were unanimo' in saying that it was a most enjoyable dan £
