" The eighth dance of the Hiuemoa Quadrille Assembly took place on Wednesday last in St George's Hall, owing to the Oddfellows' Hall being otherwise engaged. It was a very enjoyable dance, although the weather was rather close. Amongst the ladies I noticed the following :— Miss A Constant, pretty creme ; Miss Buckland looked very nice in brown skirt and brown velvet blouse ; Miss P Constant, pretty light tweed trimmed with pink shot silk ; Miss Anderson, pretty muslin trimmed with heliotrope silk; Miss Lough, brown tweed (very nice) ; Miss Adlum, brown relieved with pale blue ; Miss Dalton, light dress; Miss McGregor, light tweed trimmed with shot silk (very nice) ; Miss Gibson, green dress (very nice) ; Miss — Gibson, pretty fawn ; Miss Syms, black relieved with white ; Miss Pearce, pale blue blouse, dark skirt; Miss Kelly, white blouse, dark skirt; Miss Kerr, black ; Miss K Rae, black (very nice) ; Miss N Twohill, very pretty yellow silk blouse, black skiit; Miss Millet, brown; Miss — Millet, black ; Mrs Truscott, red silk blouse, dark skirt ; Miss Jackson, black and white ; and others.
