Cock of the Walk. A TARANAKI STUDY. Our sketch shows Mr Cock in the throes of literary parturition. Mr Cock has issued a business proclamation, in which he discourses as follows : ' Whereas by the grace of God the said liichard Cock had a son given unto him, and whereas it is the intention of the aforesaid Richard Cock to assist the young Cock by opening a provision shop for him, it is hereby enacted that the shop will be opened forthwith and that the old Cock and the young Cock now solicit a continuance of the patronage bestowed upon the old Cock for the last twenty years. God save the Queen and R. Cock.'
