The Waitemata Election.
The writ has been issued for this seat' and the election takes place on the 9th of April. Meßsrs Palmer, Massey and Eden George are the three candidates in the field, and the two latter are now touring the district and addressing meetings. Mr Palmer is, unfortunately for himself, laid up through the injury to his left knee caused by a fall from his horse. He was attended to by Dr. Haines at the time, but the injury has since extended through want of care from a wound the size of a five shilling piece to one covering the whole front of the knee. Last Saturday be consulted Dr. Wilkins, with the result that complete rest was ordered. Yielding to the doctor's instructions, Mr Palmer is now at home with his knee in a splint to prevent all flexions of the leg, which movements, Dr. Wilkins assures Mr Palmer, have been the cause of the extension of the injury to its present size. Mr Palmer will prooeed with the campaign as soon as the doctor will allow him to stir.
