LICHFIELD.
The young men of Lichfield and Putaruru gave a ball in the school-room recently, which passed off with great eclat. The musicians, Messrs Fraser (violin) and Murphy (piccolo), as per usual, wer« all that could be desired. These two gentlemen, for dance music, may be equalled, but hardly excelled. The arrangements throughout reflect great credit on the management. Mr P. Turnbull, as M.C., was the right man in the right place- In fact, the committee spared neither time, trouble nor expense to make the affair what it was— a success. Of course G. says it might have been improved a pon, but then he was not on the committee.
