OUR CHRISTMAS SERMON.

The matrimonial knot quite often results in a tangle. It is the man who is always getting lef b that talks most about his rights. Every man may have his price ; but few of them have it in their pockets. It is pretty hard for Dyspepsia and Christianity to travel hand-in-hand through life. The practical politician is a man who takes more pride in his influence than in his integrity. All the world loves a lover — yet it laughs superciliously when your ardent letters are read in court. When a man is dressed in a little brief authority, he makes it more conspicuous than a red neck-tie. The pessimist is a gentleman who is always afraid he will choke to death on the silver spoon born in his mouth. Many a girl makes a bad blunder in not taking a man at his word when he says — " lam not worthy of your love."
