Treasure Trove for Somebody.
Quite recently an old miser died out Waikomiti direction, but with him died the secret of the locality where he is supposed to have secreted his hoardings. This has caused quite a flutter in the Treasury Department, who "have reliable information that the old man died possessed of considerable wealth, but how to reach this has proved worse than a Chinese puzzle. A brilliant idea seems to "have ptruck them, for we now hear that Trooper K>lly has been out posting up handbills, wherein the Government are offering 1 the munificent reward of £5 for the recovery of the planted gold. The department would not advertise for fear that unscrupulous persons might go and search for v keeps.'
