DBURY
Some of the members of the Burns Club held an entertainment in the Drury Hall, on Thursday evening, 21st inst., for the purpose of raising funds for the Presbyterian community of our district. The songs and readings were much appreciated by the audience, but the next time they visit, us they would do well to bring an interpreter with them. The doctor should not put on so much jam when dancing. His carolling is greatly admired by the ladies. The following losses were sustained through the failure of a large firm in Auckland :— Richey, one side of bacon ; Rob, three sacks of chaff ; Allan, one case of apples.
