—The recent sculliag race between Dutch and Brown resulted in civil proceedings, the two scullers claiming from their opponents damages caused to their boats in the race. It was proved that Brown deliberately threw himself across Dutch's boat, at the same time remarking that he would take good care than the boat would be of no more use to Dutch. Brown was fined £5 and was ordered to pay £2$ for injury to Dutch's boat, and £4 14s 6d, costs, £34 14s 6d in all. The case against Dutch was dismissed.
