Lime water, or aerated water of some kind' renders milk more digestible.
To Bestore Faded . Cacbemire.— Sponge with equal parts of alcohol and ammonia, diluted with a little warm water;
l'ron Holders,— Old boot tops, cut into pieces the right size and lined, make good iron holders. The leather keeps all heat away from the hand.
Cleaning Walls.— Papered walls are cleaned by being wiped down with a flannel cloth tied over a broom or brush. Then cut off a thick piece of stalo bread and rub down with this. Begin at the top and go straight down.
A carpet — particularly a dark carpet -of ten looks dusty when it does not need sweeping. Wring out a sponge quite dry in water, and wipe off the dust from the carpet. This saves much labour in sweeping.
