THE O.M.'S ADVICE TO DYSPEPTICS,
A 11 good folks, now, mind what I say M uch of good food will spoil Xmas Day, Eat plain tucker only. I know you will stare, It eplying, you'll eat to drive away care R oast duck, plum pudding and mince pie as well ; V es, and a dozen more dishes, you know very well. C ome listen to me, I'll give you a plan How you may be happy and still be a man. B ise up with the lark, and take a long walk ; I nterest your children with sensible talk ; S ing to the missus, and split up some logs, T hen feed the chickens, and play with the dogs ; M enu for feeding, 'tis easy to manage— A little boiled rice and a little cold cabbage. S uch is my plan ; my advice I give free T o readers and friends in these Isles of the sea. O n this festive morn, think of friends far away A 11 surrounded by fogs and many a glum day ; L et us in this fair spot be perfect Minervas, L et us send all our friends the Xmas Observer.
