A party of men explored the hovel of old Cyrus Fitch, the hermit of McKee's Bock, who was sent to the workhouse on Monday. The hut consisted of sticks and limbs of trees piled up and covered with old umbrellas and carpet. The party tore down the hovel and found over 4000 papers, two large Colt's navy revolvers and an old sword, a long-bladed dirk knife and other implements of warfare. Eeceipts for money amounting to twentyfive thousand dollars and an invitation to the first annual ball olthe "Waverley Historical Society, at Courtney's Station, July 4, 1864, were also found. The conj tents' of the hut were" piled away in a shanty.
