KAIWAKA KATERWAULINGS.
On Friday, April 10, one of the most notorious combats ever witnessed here, took place on School Hill between two of our local dabs. It would appear that on the night of the above date the two gentlemen in the course of conversation, differing slightly in opinion over some financial affasrs, became very excited, and from that to blows, Gren. 0. deliberately striking Col. D. fair on the proboscis, causing blood and fragments to fly in all directions, Col. D. falling heavily to the ground. Col. D. quickly recovering himself, with a well-directed blow speedily brought to earth his antagonist, whereupon they both joined in a close embrace, when a terrible struggle ensued, causing great excitement among the crowd. After releasing each other, the two stood off afc a respectful distance and fought about 50 rounds, displaying science not to be surpassed in the United Kingdom, Gen. 0 coming off victorious. This battle will be remembered by some of those who were present who witnessed the thrilling and deadly battle fought on Bunker's Hill, June 28, 1884.
