CURIOUS COMPLICATIONS.
The marriage of the Princess Beatrice will' produce curiously complicated relationships. That her husband will be eighteen months her junior is a matter of little consequence. He is the youngest of three brothers — the two others being Prince Alexander of Bulgaria, and Prince Louis of Battenberg. In tracing- a few of the dew relationships the Prince of Bulgaria may be left out of account, as also the consulship between the Princes and the Grand Duke of Hesse. Princess Beatrice's niece, the eldest daughter of the late Princess Alice, is the wife of Prince Louis: the niece has got the elder brother, the aunt is to have the younger. Princess Beatrice will therefore become sister -in - law of her niece. As Prince Henry is by marriage the brother of her neice, the Princess will be the aunt of her own husband. She is the aunt of Prince Louis, and will also become his sister. By his brother's marriage Prince Henry is the nephew of his intended wife, and by his marriage will become the uncle of his brother. Then, as regards the Queen, her grand-daughter will be her daughter's sister ; and of the two brothers, the elder is her grandson and the younger will be her son. The Prince of Wales' sister will be his neice, and his neice will be his sister. Finally, it may be said that by her marriage the Princess Beatrice will become her own aunt, for she must be aunt to her niece's sister — and that will be herself.
