ACUTE POSITION.
STAFFING OF HOSPHALS. FINDING QUALIFIED SISTERS. FOR MATERNITY HOMES. (By Telegraph.—Press Association]. PALMERSTON N., Dec. 21. According to a, .report presented to the Palmerstou North Hospital Board by the secretary, Mr. A. J. Phillipps, there is an acute*' position as' regards securing qualified persons to fill positions as sisters in the public hospitals, and especially as sisters of maternity homes.
The report suggested that the executive of the Hospital Boards' Association be asked to have the matter brought before the general conference in New Plymouth, and in the meantime, to communicate with the Health Department with a view to ascertaining what steps could'be taken ; by the boards to overcome tliC •position.' The board decided to draft a- remit on these lines.
