CRICKET CAUSERIE.

COMMENTS BY THE WAY.

A Weekly Feature.

LIST OF AVERAGES

NOTES BY "KEEPER." T Only one match was played on Saturday under the auspices of the Thames Cricket Association, and this resulted in a six-point win to Old 'Boys

by one run and seven wickets in hand

I am unable to ascertain what hap-, pened between the Tararu and Karaka match; I noticed a number of players of both teams on the ground and prepared for cricket, but no game was played. Although the conditions earlier in the afternoon were bad, the sun shone with brilliance later.on.

Sporting Spirit. The High School team is to be commended for its fine sporting attitude shown at the conclusion of their sec-

ond innings, in allowing Old Boys to bat immediately and not taking the 10 minutes allowed after the conclusion of each innings. When Old Boys went in to bat on their second innings I left the ground, thinking that only a win on the first innings would be the result, but the 40 runs for 3 wickets secured in four overs gave Old Boys a six-point win by 1 run and 7 wickets in hand.

Batting and Bowling Averages. I have compiled batting and bowling averages for all clubs, and I have only selected from five to six players of each club, in their order of merit. Averages are as follows:
