With good acceptances in all events, the Waikato Racing Club will open its spring meeting at Te Rapa to-morr >w The programme will open with the Trial Stakes, for a sweepstake of £3 with £2OO added, for which 38 have accepted, requiring the race to be run in two divisions, which will be treat ed on the totalisator as one race.

The Waikato Cup, 1 mile and "• ur., longs, is the principal race of the day, and the only withdrawal at the timt of writing is Round Up, whose weight was increased owing to his win at Avondale,. where he accounted for the cup with ease. This leaves 13 starters in to-morrow's big event, the champion mile and a quarter galloper, King Rey, being at the head of the list with 9 3. The chief sprint event is the Cambridge Handicap, 6 fur., with the well known sprinter Llangollen in pride of place with 9.2.

The light rain which fell in thecal part of the week has put the course in splendid order, and some good ricai* should be witnessed.

The win and place system of bettiig will be in operation, the first rao-3 starting at 12.15 p.m.
