MOTORIST’S DEATH.
FOLLOWING A FALL.
DROVE OWN CAR. THOUGH BADLY INJURED. [By Telegraph. —Press Association]. TE KUITI, Sept. 2,. Suffering from grave internal injuries, a King Country resident drove his motor-car 11 miles to his home. He died subsequently in the Waikato Hospital. He was Mr. William Henry Holmes, aged 52, garage proprietor, of Otorohanga. Mr. Holmes injured himself severely in a heavy fall at Honikiwi. In spito pain, and showing great endurance, he drove slowly back to Otorohanga alone.
After receiving medical attention, Mr. Holmes was taken to the Waikato
Hospital, where an operation was performed. He failed to rally, however, and died during the week-end.
A popular business man and sportsman in the King Country, Mr. Holmes was known as an expert shot and a very successful breeder and exhibitor of sporting dogs, especially English setters. He is survived by his wife and four daughters.
