CHARITY TROTS.
ADDINGTON MEETING. FOR CHINESE FUNDS. NON-TOTALISATOII FUNCTION. [By Telegraph.—Press Association] CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 24. Although a totalisator permit is not available, the Canterbury Owners and Breeders’ Association intends to organise a charity trotting meeting at Addington to assist the funds for the re lief of Chinese refugee children. The president of the association, Mr. R. E. Hall, said it was hoped to run a charity meeting witlfbut a totalisator some time in October, although it might not be possible to secure a free Saturday at the course in that month. In that case as a mid-week meeting was not likely to be successful, an avail able Saturday in November would be selected.
Of course, the ideal time, he added, would be a Saturday late in October with the idea of getting nominations for the horses running at the big meeting in November.
