LENDING PROPOSAL. £IOO,OOO OFFERED FROM U.S.A. Solicitors in London wrote to Sir George Oliver Colt-hurst, Bart., owner of Blarney Castle, Cork, offering him £IOO,OOO if he would lend the Blarney Stone to America for 12 months. The offer, a. financier in Queen Victoria Street said, is from a syndicate of Americans with Irish associations, who want to exhibit the famous stone in tho United States and Canada and charge visitors who kiss it a dollar (4/-) a time. The syndicate arc prepared to give a generous proportion of the receipts—if they get it—to Irish hospitals. They
would insure the stone and return to its present position.
