THAMES SOCIAL ITEMS. NEWS ABOUT PEOPLE. Mrs. T. Bayldon, of Morrinsville, lias taken up her new residence at Station House, Thames. Mrs. de Clive-Lowe, Sealey Street, lias returned after spending last weekend in Auckland. Mrs. A. N. Scotter has returned to Thames after a visit to Fiji, where sho was the guest of her daughter. Mrs. A. L. Burk, wife of the newlyappointed Commissioner to Thames, has taken up residence at Ileale Street, Parawai. Mrs. Pease, Matatoki, has returned after spending some weeks in Auckland. Mrs. Brookes, Coromandel, paid a short visit to Thames during last weekend. Miss Noble, Karaka Road, has rereturned after spending the week-end in the Waikato district. Mrs. Burrell, Folleu Street, has returned from a visit to Auckland. Miss G. Smith, Hamilton, paid a week-end visit to her parents, Mi. and Mrs. J. Smith, Tararu. Mrs. Forrester, Te Arolia, is tho guest, of her daughter, Mrs. A. Danby, Karaka Road. Mrs. A. Fisher, Franklin Street, is staying with her parents at Epsom. Miss P. Thorp, who for the past- five years has been associated with tho clerical staff of the Thames Borough Council, lias received tin appointment with the Matamata County Council at Tirau, and will leave’ shortly to tako up her new post. WOMEN’S CLUB. The monthly open evening at the Women’s Club Pollen Street, was held on Thursday last. Flag bridge was played, the winners being Mrs. F. Bell, Misses Maxted and Morrison. Supper was served in the ping-pong room, tho table decorations being of golden gleam nasturtiums and spring bulbs. The prizes for the flag bridge were donated by Mrs. E. Newman. ST. JOHN AMBULANCE DANCE. FROCKS AT THE MAJESTIC.
