CAPTAIN’S REGRET.
LONG PASS IN RUGBY. FAILURE OF N.Z. TEAMS. [By Telegraph.—Press Association]. WELLINGTON, Sept. 22. Agreement was expressed by the management committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union at a meeting last night with the views expressed in a letter from N. A. Mitchell, captain of the AH Blacks who toured Australia. The burden of Mitchell’s letter w r as an expression of regret at the failure of Rugby teams in New Zealand to employ the long pass from the base of the scrum.
