FROM HOTEL TILL. DRINK GIVEN AS EXCUSE. MAGISTRATE DEFERS SENTENCE. [By Telegraph.—Press Association] AUCKLAND, April 11. Leo Trenette, aged 53, a member of a touring theatrical company, was convicted of stealing £lO in notes from the till of the iiotel where he was staying. The excuse offered by his counsel was that Trenette had been drinking, which was his trouble.
The magistrate ordered the refund of £3 not yet refunded, and remanded Trenette for sentence until May 27.
