MINISTER INVITED.
VISIT TO THAMES DISTRICT. Hospital Board Move. RENOVATIONS AND REPAIRS. ENLARGING NURSES' HOME. The need for renovations and repairs to the Waihi and Coromandel Hospitals, and the question of enlarging the Thames Nurses' Home for tho accommodation of 12 extra nurses, wore discussed briefly at the Thames Hospital Board meeting yesterday. The outcome was the decision to
have the estimated cost of these works drawn up by the Board's architect and to invite the Minister for Health, Mr. P. Fraser, to visit the Thames Hospital District as soon as possible. Mr. A. R. Robinson said it was urgent that the Minister should visit the district in order that he might obtain first-hand knowledge of the needs of the Board. He felt sure that some assistance to the Board would be forthcoming if the Minister was personally acquainted with the difficulties facing the Board.
It was decided that the Minister be asked to visit the district before the next meeting on March 15, if possible.
