OVERCROWDING.
THEATRE MANAGER FINED. BREACH OF BY-LAWS. CASE IN BLENHEIM. [By Telegraph.—Press Association] BLENHEIM, Dec. 23. The overcrowding of a theatre last Saturday night led to the appearance in the Magistrate's Court ot\ S. Andrews, manager of the theatre, on a charge of allowing persons other than employees to remain sitting in the aisles, contrary to the borough by-laws. A pleu of guilty was entered. Mr. T. E. Maunsell, S.M., imposed a line of "£2. The borough solicitor mentioned that two letters of warning were sent to the previous manager. The magistrate said that the practice was dangerous. It was part of the essential duty of the theatre management to see that the theatre .wa's kept free from obstruction.
