NIGHT NOISES.
[To the Editor]
Sir, —I crave space in your valuable journal to ventilate an annoyance which is fast becoming unbearable. 1 refer to the din created by larrikins in Pollen Street, frequently and more especially in the early hours of Sunday morning. Not content with singing and shouting, the blare of instruments, door-slamming and cranking of cars, wo have the jingle of empty bottles rolling into the gutters, very often accompanied by language which is unfit for decent people to hear. For variation, the screams of their lady escorts tend to relieve the monotony. This, Sir, is no new happening, as those poor unfortunate residents of Pollen Street can testify. Trusting that some abler pen than mine will take this matter up. —I am, etc.,
