BOBBY CALF POOL.
ON HAURAKI PLAINS.
ALL IS NOT QUIET.
ON THE WEBTEBN • FHONT. Despite the long deliberations and arrangements finalised by the bobby calf pool last week-end, yesterday's operations were not up to expectations. Some carriers adopted a "Yes—No" policy for the pool one day and against .the next. One prominent carrier had one truck operating for the pool and one against. The zoning system was disregarded, and all made routes to suit themselves. Some carriers stuck to the pool.
The resolution agreed upon by tho Carriers' Association seemed to bo treated as n a scrap of paper" by some of its members.
All is not quiet on the Western Front of the Hauraki Plains. Time will tell whether the carriers concerned are doing the right thing, but at present the farmer is being "Farmer" by the carriers and buyers.
