THREE CARS INVOLVED.
IN SPECTACULAR SMASH. GREAT SOUTH ROAD INCIDENT,
NO SERIOUS INJURIES,
[By Telegraph.—Press Association] AUCKLAND, July 30. Three motor cars were involved in a .spectacular accident at Otahuhu yesterday afternoon. A car driven by Kenneth Mathieson, a farmer, of Putumahoe, was approaching the intersection of the Great South Tioati ami Park lioad, Otahuhu, when the driver noticed a car driven by William McNally, of Buckland, coining out of Park Road. Mr. Mathieson applied his brakes and pulled up to allow the other car to cross the road. The second car had just crossed to the other side of the road
when it was involved in a collision with a third ear, driven by Sonia Marie Salter, of Remuera. Mr. McNally's car was forced over to the right until it lttt Mr. Mathieson's car. The third car went on for some distance, mounted the footpath, and knocked down a brick wall before coming to a standstill in the garden of Dr. Armstrong's home, the driver suffering slight injuries. The occupants of the other cars escaped injury. Two of the cars had to be towed away, but Mr. Mathieson's car was able to proceed under its own power.
