The secretary of the Listeners' League telegraphed the acting-Minister for Broadcasting, Mr. F. Jones, recently for permission to advertise from 4YA and the B stations the league's annual meeting.

Mr. Jones replied that it was not possible to comply with the request, a 9 the transmission of advertisements from the stations was prohibited undci the provisions of the Broadcasting Act of last year. The secretary replied that the section of the Act only prohibited advertising for pecuniary benefit, and this meeting was not for tho pecuniary benefit of anyone, but wau only a notice of tho meeting.

Tho Minister answered: "Notwith standing your views, it is not consider ed suitable."
