MONTHLY COUNCIL MEETING. FLOODING AT PURU. PROPERTY OWNERS' PETITION. The Thames County Council met yesterday. Present: Mr. H. Lowe (chairman), Crs. o. McCorinick, W. Pried, W. Brunton, P. Williamson, G. H. Cribb, D. Courtney. The clerk, Mr. D. Mackay, was also in attendance. The works supervisor, Mr. J. H. Adams, reported that the contractor for the reconditioning of the road at Thornton's Bay commenced work at the beginning of May, and had made good progress in spite of adverse weather conditions. . On the Karaka stream road a slip had occurred in the vicinity of MeIsaac's junction. The removal of the slip would cost approximately £IOO. When it settled down probably it would be possible to make a road over the top of it.

A petition wa,-< read from property ewners at Puru, who asked the Council to take some move to prevent flooding of their properties by the creek near Hill's Store.

It was decided to make application to the authorities that effect be given to the proposal relating to the creek as contained in the Puru sealing proposals.
