Television.
VAST SUMS BEING SPENT. THOUSANDS OF SETS SOLD. Under instructions from the tish Government the British Broadcasting Corporation is spending vast sums of money on the development of television, said Mr. S. F. Doyle, of Cinesound Productions, Ltd., who passed through Auckland on. the Monterey after a business visit to Great Britain. In his opinion, this would not be done unless the results would justify the expenditure, and he thought television would become a normal public utility before the end of the year. Already thousands of sets had been sold.
