Bitten By Sea Lion.
ST. CLAIR BEACH PET. REGARDED AS DANGEROUS. The sea lion which has made its home at St. Clair beach, Dunedin, and which has been regarded as a pet for some months, has developed habits which have made him not so popular as he used to be. In fact, he is now regarded as dangerous, for within the last few weeks he has bitten some seven or eight persons. Fortunately, most ol the bites have not been serious, but one woman is suilering severclv Horn shock as a result of her encounter with him.
The sea lion has not been so docile as previously, perhaps because he has been teased and in some instances ill-treated. Within the last few days he has visited a number of shops, and women and children have been afraid to enter them because ot the danger of hi> attacking them. It is suggested for this reason that some action should be taken to remove him.
