(By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Jan. 9.
General inference: A shallow depression still lies across the Dominion, but is moving slowly eastward. Pressure is still high to the east. Forecast: Strong northerly winds, decreasing gradually. Weather cloudy to overcast, with intermittent rain at most places but gradually improving. Temperatures still warm. Seas rough to high but decreasing.
