The official opening of the Union Airways trunk service will take place at Palmerston North on Wednesday, January 15, when an official flight will be made from Dunedin to Palmerston North, with stops at Christchurch and Blenheim. * The three de Havilland 86 machines will be christened at the function, arranged by the Mayor and councillors of Palmerston North and the Manawatu Aero Club, the ceremony to be performed by the Post-master-General, the Hon. F. Jones. Arrangements are being made to cope with an attendance of from 8000 to 10,000 people.

The trunk service will be inau gurated the 'following day.
