Beef Values Firm.

THE WESTFIELD SALE. (Special to "Star.”) AUCKLAND, Nov. 28. A smaller yarding of ox beef was in evidence at the Westfield fat stock sales yesterday, a keen sale resulting at firm late rates. The quality was well up to the average and last week’s prices were fully maintained. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report that their yarding numbered 159 head of beef, comprising 61 steers and 98 cow's and heifers, against 162 head last w'eok. The quality was firstclass and, selling under a ready demand, they have to report a good sale at very firm rates. Good quality cows and heifers sold strongly and values for this class improved on last week’s.
