THE SCOTT SHIELD. WON BY RHODES’ TEAM. UNBEATEN DURING TOURNEY. The sectional winners of the Scott Shield indoor bowling tournament met in the final at the Druids’ Hal] last evening, and after a fairly even contest, R. M. Rhodes’ team defeated the Oddfellows’ representatives by 16 to 11. Rhodes was unable to play last night, and his place was taken by A. Fleming. The winning team was: A. Delamore, A. Gibb, E. Brownlee, A. Fleming (skip). The Oddfellows’ team was: C. Billing, A. J. Briggs, E. Martin, J. Prai (skip). Oddfellows opened the scoring b taking two off the first head and followed with a single at the next head. The winners opened their account with a single on the third, three on the next, and one on the sixth head Apart from singles off the seventh, tenth and fifteeenth heads Oddfellows failed to scofe, making the tally at the seventeenth head 14 to 7. With one head to go Rhodes’ team led by eight points. However, Oddfellows notched a three on the last head, leaving the final score 16 to n. Following the game, A.D. Bro. W. Jack presented the shield to the tournament winners and congratulated them on their unbeaten record. He also congratulated the losers on the standard of their game. Cheers were given for both teams, and the winning and losing skips returned thanks.
