Coates, Minister of Public Works. “The Statement covers 26 pages, and ’ deals with the work of the year. The expenditure for the perio totalled £8,388,529, of which railways aifd roads absorbed £4,481,333. Strange to say, there is no mention of Thames’ new post office m the Statement but it says that the plans and specifications have also ■been prepared for the new post office building at Taumarunm and tenders will be called shortly.
