BAND OF HOPE.
MONTHLY MEETING,
The monthly meeting of the Thames United Band of Hope was hold in St. James' Hall last Monday night, and though the weather conditions were very unfavourable the place was well filled and a happy time was spent.
Mr Edwin Brown was the speaker as well as the chairman for the niglht, and interested the children in his very happy talk, which was well sprinkled by the sort of anecdotes that kiddies love.
A very line programme was presented by the members, those taking part being:— Song E. Gleeson; recitation, E. Edwards; item, "Crazy Caper," Mrs Qakley and Miss A. Eowe; recitation, fl. Gooder; song, "Fairies' Garden," Valerie Fear; recitation, Leu. Davis; dialogue, "Teinperance Exercises," Methodist Sunday School; dialogue, "Afternoon Compositions," Baptist Sunday School; monologues, Mr G. Plueke. The next meeting will be held on August 10.
