Roller Mills Shield. Word was received from the Auckland Executive governing the Rolbr Mills Shield that the competition this year will be held at Hamilton, if billeting for the boys can be- arranged. It has been suggested, however, so as to prevent the organisation from becoming too unwieldy, to arrange for the contest to be played in two sections, one at Te Kuiti and one at Hamilton, the finals to be played at Hamilton. Pukekohe (South Auckland) is the present holder of the much-coveted trophy. The venue of play last year was at Pukekohe, where the organisation and arrangements were all that could be desired. Thames Valley held the Shield during the years 1926, 1927, 1928, King Country, 1929, Thame's Valley then being rumiers-up, and Pukekohe (South Auckland) 1930. Hockey. The Paeroa Ladies' representative tea,m with Mr L. A'. Doolan as manager and Mrs Edgar Turner as chaperone left for Auckland by bus on Sunday morning to take part in the Country Week Tournament. Misses V. Brown and J. Alley have now been chosen by Mr L. A. Doolan (selector) to play in .lieu of Misses M. Alley and G. Alley, who unfortunately at the eleventh" hour found it impossible to make the trip. Both girls will be much missed from the team. The Paeroa representatives yesterday defeated Wairoa by six goals to nil". Miss Shand (4), Miss Swann (1) and Miss Gamble (1) were the scorers.
