! People who apologise for having "such wretched" memories ought to I be brought to book., They talk as though they were suffering from an incurable disease inflicted upon them by fate. (What is really the trouble with, them is laziness. Ask them what they are doing to train their memories, whether they give even five minutes a day to the task, and they will have to admit that the idea of improving themselves in this way has never occurred to them. Whereat the true nature of their complaint will be made clear —and its remedy. > ' ■>-
