COMMON PLANT THE BASIS.' INQUIRIES BEING MADE. ■■ - ' (By Telegraph—Own Correspondent.) f AUCKLAND, Dec. 11. “Kumarahou,’ ’ a common plant of the gumlands of, Auckland Province, known colloquially by the gumdiggers as “poverty plant” and' in scientific circles as “pomaderris elfiptica” is stated to be the, basis of the Bev. E. Ward’s new cure for tuberculosis. Gumdiggers use the leaves as soap. The Minister of Health has already secured a report on the plant from an. agricultural chemist.
