BRIDSON WINS BY LENGTH,
SWIMMING AT WHANGAREI.

, Ryan, the Australian middle-dis-tance swimming champion, took part tn the carnival last evening and was .defeated by Bridson, the New Zealand champion, in the 440yds, event. '"The time was 5.40. Bridson took the lead in the fourth lap and was a .length ahead at the finish. -Griffiths appeared in several exhibitions and won the 100yds. event -easily.
