KING'S TO-NIGHT.
“THE JOKER.”
“The Joker,” a British Dominions film version of Noel Scott’s popular play, which was seen, on the Australian stage recently, is the attracti on at the King’s T!holire to-night. Th s Anglo-Continental production is even better in' its film form than in a play. Opportunities were given for seme marvellous Mardi Gr. s caruivai, which is held at Nice, which, of , course, could not possibly be attempted on a stage. These woadirf-l backgrounds enhance the value of the story greatly. ' This film gives Henry Edwards, who became famous as the “Flag Lieutenant,” quite the best and most sympriithetici role c<f his career as the debonair young man-al oit-to vn Inoyn as “The” Joker.” Miles Mander. the clever emotional a'.tir, is afforded unusual opportunity for a character study, and quite excellent acting as a blackmailing solicitor. Beautiful El-ga-Brink, who gave a charming Portrayal in “The Physician,” :s delightful as Monica., and wears some very pretty clothes. The first half of the programme will be provided by the school children of the South Sr bool.
