Plains won the toss and elected to bat, McDonald and Stretton' opening, Gibson taking up the attack from the southern end and Wells at the northern end. Plains started badly, Stretton beihg caught out and McDonald run out in the first over. Wells took Laurence’s wicket in his over, and Green in his second, the score reading 24 —0.,\ . '
Graham was next man in, and commenced to score freely. When 8, he gave a high chance back to Wells, the bowler just failing to reach it.
