A KEEN DEMAND
Alfred Buckland and Sons. Limited, report: Yesterday at our weekly Westfield fat stock market we penned fat cattle to the number of 267 head, comprising 153 steers and 114 cows and heifers, as compared with 332 head at last Wednesday’s sale'. The quality of the ex beef was first-class. There was a keen demand throughout and last week’s values were fully maintained. Extra choice ox sold to 42/- per 1001 b.; choice and prime ox, 38/- to 41/-; secondary and plain ox. 35/- to 37/-; prime young cow and heifer beef, 35/- to 39/-; ordinary cow beef. 30/- to 34/-. Extra heavy prime steers price from LIG to £1", the latter price for two threevear-old show steers. Heavy crime steers. £l4/15/- to £ls/17/6; lighter crime steers, £l3/10/- to £l4 12/6: light prime steers. £l2/10/- to £•l3/7/6: small and unfinished steers, £ll to £l2/7/6; extra heavy prime venng cows and heifers, £9 to £lO 17'6: lighter prime cows and heifers, £7/10/- to £B/17/6; other killable cows,. £5/1.0/- to £7/7'6. v
