PROMPT RESCUE.
NURSE IN UNDERTOW
-(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, Nov. 15.
A young woman named Calder, a -.nurse, had a narrow escape' from 'drowning while swimming at St. Clair Beach. She was a hundred yards out -when she was seen %o throw her arms up and signal for help. Richard Coxon swam out and grasped her, but he -could make no headway against the -undertow. Ivan Turnbull swam to his assistance with a life line against a -strong current, and the three got .ashore exhausted.
Miss Calder, on recovering, said -.she' would have been drowned hut for "the youth’s promptness and courage.
